This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is nestled in the heart of Homestead, FL. Our school population reflects our city, consisting of locals, seasonal immigrants from all over Central America, and a large population of children on the autism spectrum. I have the honor and privilege of being the adaptive PE coach and serving our students on that spectrum.

My students love to play and have higher ceilings than most would believe.

I love coming up with creative games to challenge and mold the character values that they'll take with them everywhere they go.

My Project

These electronic documenting/editing devices will assist me in communicating with my students, their parents, and the community at large both inside and outside of the classroom. As an adaptive P.E coach and advocate for students that vary on both sides of the spectrum, I want to make sure my students are given the best chance at succeeding in an ever-evolving world.

The iPad Pro, Drone, and Pocket camera stabilizer will be essential in providing the best resources available to bridge the gaps that exist in my students with autism's physical and cognitive abilities because they will allow me to plan, execute, and document the formational activities my students and I do both in and outside of our school grounds for grant applications.

Students in the adaptive P.E program, best buddies program, and safety patrol program will partake in the creative process of filming, producing, and editing content that will be played on the morning announcements. Some of the videos we produce will be uploaded on our adaptive P.E website which will specifically be used for grants toward upgrading our outdoor P.E facility. My goal is to empower students in advocating for themselves while leaving behind a legacy for future students to enjoy and follow.

As the Vice President of our PTA, servant leader of our schools Safety Patrol, head of the Sports Development Program, Best Buddies faculty advisor and ambassador of the Move 1 Million team with celebrity Chris Powell, I plan on cross-pollinating and intersecting these different organizations and non-profits towards benefitting the students under my care. The iPad Pro will be vital in helping me bring my ideas to fruition through planning and editing footage while the drone and camera stabilizer will do the documenting.
