This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Be GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) is a highly effective, research-based instructional model that supports language development for all students, especially English learners and bilingual students. This Spanish-language Be GLAD training provides teachers with powerful strategies to foster academic language, content understanding, and student engagement—all in Spanish.

Through this training, I will learn how to create a rich, interactive classroom where students develop oral language, reading, and writing skills in Spanish.

Strategies include chants, pictorial input charts, cooperative learning, and student-centered activities that make learning visible and meaningful.

By participating in Be GLAD Spanish training, I’ll be better equipped to meet the diverse needs of my students, honor their cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and help them thrive in a dual-language setting. This training will have a long-lasting impact on my teaching and my students’ success.
