Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am blessed to work with extremely hard working students that try their best to improve their literacy skills. My students are 3rd-5th grade students that are primarily working at Kindergarten and early First Grade levels. They come to my room to receive small group, intensive instruction that is targeted to meet their academic needs.
My students need tools to choose from to support their varying needs in reading and writing.
My goal is for my students to understand their strengths and needs, as well as, for them to learn what tools best support their learning. Materials such as the CVC dry erase cards, highlighters, pencils, cardstock, and binder rings will allow me to provide my students with the individualized tools they need to make progress in reading and writing. These tools, as well as a visual schedule, will also offer my students the opportunity to control their own learning and become empowered, active learners.
