My Project

I am currently working with middle school students in my STEAM classroom. My end goal is to expose students to many different experiences within science, technology, engineering, and math. I want to inspire the students I serve to become future designers and engineers. In my classroom, students to a new subject, and then apply their knowledge at the end of each lesson to building a project to help enhance their interest in technology. I have brought my own 3-D printers into the school and expose the students to them. Their curiosity and all at the process of 3-D printing has inspired me to start a 3-D prints club in the school. The 3-D printers and materials for the printers that I am requesting will be used specifically to teach the students how to design and slice. They will also be learning different software, and how to maintain and repair 3-D printers. I want to expose them to different models of printers in order for them to see the similarities between most of them. I have already started showing the students how 3-D printing has been used in the health industry, automotive industry, and construction industry. Because this is a new thing being brought into the school, I am focusing on FDM printers before I expose them to resin through the printing. My 3-D printing program has already participated in the school's science night. The students want more access, and I want to be able to help them get it. My students are very special to me because they will be the future of the US technology industry.
