My Project
I love my students’ passion for innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration. My high school engineering students are not just eager to learn—they are excited to share their knowledge with the next generation. With this project, they will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they work together to teach a group of elementary students how to build and program VEX robots. The 20 Small VEX Robot Kits I am requesting will make a tremendous difference in their learning by providing hands-on, real-world engineering experience. These kits will allow my students to engage in critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity as they assemble, test, and refine their robots. More importantly, they will step into the role of mentors, guiding younger students through the process and inspiring them to explore STEM fields.
My goals for this project are for my students to develop engineering skills, foster leadership & communication, and inspire future STEM leaders.
By working with elementary students, my high schoolers will help spark an early interest in STEM fields. What makes my students special is their enthusiasm for engineering and their desire to make a difference. They are not just learning for themselves—they are committed to giving back to their community. This project will not only enhance their technical skills but also teach them the value of mentorship, teamwork, and lifelong learning.
