My Project
In rural Hawaii, I teach an extraordinary group of aspiring engineers. What sets them apart is their resilience, curiosity, and thirst for learning. However, technological limitations are hindering their potential. Our school-provided Chromebooks cannot run essential industry-standard software like Fusion 360, Cura, and VScode, which are vital in fields of engineering and tech.
Many of my students come from families with limited resources and lack internet access and familiarity with Windows-operated computers at home.
This gap leaves them inexperienced with vital skills like system maintenance and file management, leaving them less prepared for future tech-oriented careers.
This project aims to acquire two Acer Aspire laptops to bridge this gap. These devices will introduce students to robust software, provide hands-on tech experience, and equip them with key competencies they'll encounter in their future careers. Your donation will fuel their journey from learning basic file management to designing in CAD, from operating Chromebooks to programming microcontrollers.
Your support will empower these future engineers to transcend barriers and instill in them the confidence to navigate the tech landscape of their chosen fields. Together, we can invest in a brighter, innovative future for these promising students of Kea'au, Hawaii.
