This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Bologna Elementary, a Title I school in Chandler, Arizona, serves a diverse population with many English Learners (ELs). This grant proposal requests tools to provide essential classroom supplies and engaging literacy tools for our ELD classroom. Many of our EL students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, limiting their access to resources. This project will directly impact their academic growth, language development, and well-being by ensuring access to basic necessities and incorporating interactive learning materials aligned with the Science of Reading and Arizona standards.
Our ELD classroom supports students at various English proficiency levels.
Lack of basic supplies and targeted learning tools hinders our ability to create the most effective learning environment. ELs require explicit and engaging instruction to master academic vocabulary and develop literacy skills. Providing these resources is crucial for their progress and participation.
