Help me give my students the best possible learning experience with dual monitor, screen sharing capabilities for small group learning settings, lesson planning, and teaching.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hi everybody! I just wanted to let you know a little bit about myself and my students! I work as a 4th-grade teacher in New York City public school teaching ELA to a combination of students including English Language Learners. The students come from all walks of life with a range of different strengths and needs and I am always trying to think of new and creative ways for my students to access their full potential both in and out of the classroom! Our school is a Title I school where all of the students belong to the free and reduced-price lunch program as we are in a primarily low-income neighborhood.
My students are not only hard-working but, they are also always excited to learn new things!
Unfortunately, many of them do not come to school with the supplies they need every day and/or with their basic needs met for reasons they have no control over; so it is usually up to myself and my fellow teachers to help them be successful in any way that we can!
My Project
These materials are going to help me to create better lesson plans since I will be able to use the dual screen capabilities and see more resources at the same time to make my lessons even more beneficial for my students. It will also help me to use technology during my small group lessons to be able to show my screen in an easier way!
I am extremely excited about this project because it is going to give me so many more opportunities to bring technology into my classroom and enhance the learning experience for my students!
Not only will the portable monitor assist greatly in my lesson planning since I usually need numerous tabs open at a time to create the perfect lesson, but it will also allow me to use the second screen to turn towards students during small group instruction so they are able to see exactly what I am seeing while I am teaching. If we were to ever go remote again, it would be a tremendous help to have an extra screen to assist in the live meetings! The remote for my PowerPoint presentations is essential in allowing me to walk around the room while I teach my lessons to ensure I am able to see students’ progress throughout instead of being stuck in the front of the classroom!
