Help me give my students feminine hygiene products to help them be successful at school. Some female students do not have supplies and need to have them provided at school.
My special education female students face unique challenges that extend beyond their cognitive and/or learning disabilities. Many come from low-income households where basic necessities, including period products, are often out of reach. These amazing young women show incredible resilience daily, working to overcome both academic and personal obstacles with determination and courage.
Access to period products is crucial for their educational success.
When students lack these essential items, they often miss school or struggle to concentrate due to anxiety and discomfort. The requested pads and feminine wipes will ensure they can participate fully in class activities without worrying about personal hygiene emergencies. This basic need, when met, allows them to focus on learning rather than managing period-related concerns.
My goals for this project are twofold: to promote regular attendance and to boost my students' confidence. With reliable access to period products, they'll feel secure knowing they have the supplies they need right at school. This security directly translates to improved engagement in classroom activities and better learning outcomes.
What makes these students truly special is their unwavering spirit. Despite facing multiple challenges, they approach each day with optimism and a willingness to learn. By providing these essential items, we're not just meeting a basic need – we're showing them they deserve dignity and respect in their educational journey.
