My Project
The use of technology and hands-on materials is a key part of my classroom environment. We often engage in creative and cultural activities, where students work with yarn to create projects that connect to their studies. These activities help foster both artistic expression and an appreciation for different cultures. Additionally, we use tablets to explore digital learning resources, conduct research, and create interactive projects that enhance their understanding. This yarn projects could help our lei making projects for all grade 8 students for their upcoming matriculation ceremony.
The challenges we face without tablets are significant, especially for students with special needs.
Paper-based activities don't provide the necessary support, such as text-to-speech features, which are crucial for helping these students access and engage with the content. Additionally, tablets would be invaluable for our English Language (EL) learners, as they could use translation tools to better understand words and phrases during their activities. These features would not only enhance their learning experience but also foster greater independence and confidence in their academic journey.
By having access to new yarn, tablets, and other school supplies, my students will be able to fully immerse themselves in their learning without interruptions. These resources will allow them to continue their cultural exploration and creative projects, all while enhancing their academic growth in a more efficient and focused environment!
