My Project

I teach 7th and 8th grade at a Title I school in Uptown Chicago, where many of my students face challenges that go beyond the classroom. This project aims to provide my students with essential hygiene products, including hair care items, oral care, deodorant, and menstrual products. The goal is to create a discreet, student-friendly hygiene station where they can access these items without having to ask.

By offering these essentials, we can help ensure that all students feel confident, cared for, and ready to focus on their education.

This project is designed to address this gap by providing a well-stocked hygiene station in our classroom. The station will include a variety of essential items—such as hair products, oral care supplies, deodorant, and menstrual products—housed in a discreet storage container. Students will be able to take what they need without the fear of embarrassment or judgment.

By removing the barriers to accessing these necessities, we can help create a more inclusive and supportive environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.
