My Project

As a dedicated third-grade teacher at a high-poverty, low-income school, I am always seeking ways to grow professionally and better meet the diverse academic and emotional needs of my students. I am writing to request your support in providing professional development books that will help me continue learning and improving my instructional practices.

Many of my students face significant challenges, both inside and outside the classroom.

To serve them effectively, I strive to stay informed about the latest research-based strategies in literacy, differentiated instruction, trauma-informed teaching, and classroom management. However, access to high-quality professional development resources is limited by both personal and school funding constraints.

Books such as Shifting the Balance, Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain, The Reading Strategies Book, and Equipped for Reading Success are just a few examples of resources that would help me build a more inclusive, effective, and engaging learning environment for all students. These materials would not only strengthen my own teaching but also allow me to share insights with my colleagues during grade-level planning and professional learning communities.

Your support would be an investment in both my growth as an educator and the success of the students I teach. With these resources, I can stay informed, inspired, and better equipped to help every child reach their full potential.
