My Project
I love the curiosity and energy my 7th-grade students bring to math class every day. They are eager to learn, explore, and challenge themselves with new concepts. However, many of them face challenges when it comes to grasping abstract mathematical ideas, especially when dealing with rational numbers, fractions, and operations.
How Resources Will Help
The specific resources I’m requesting—like calculator, math towers, pencils, dice and board games etc.—will make a tremendous difference in their learning. These hands-on tools will help them visualize complex concepts and solidify their understanding of fractions, decimals, and rational numbers. By providing visual aids and tactile resources, students can explore mathematical ideas in a more concrete way, making abstract concepts like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing rational numbers much more accessible.
With the use of math tools, students will be able to practice problems in real time, get immediate feedback, and work collaboratively with their peers. This will foster an engaging, interactive learning environment that encourages participation and supports their learning at all levels.
Goals for This Project
My primary goal is to create an environment where all students feel confident tackling math problems, particularly when it comes to rational numbers and operations. I want to close the gap between those who struggle and those who excel by giving every student the tools to succeed. These resources will also support differentiated instruction, allowing me to meet students where they are and help them advance at their own pace.
What Makes My Students Special
Despite facing various challenges, both in and out of the classroom, they are constantly striving to grow. M With these resources, I know they can unlock their potential and develop a strong foundation in mathematics that will serve them in their academic journey and beyond.
