This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our 7th grade math classroom, students are not just learning equations, they’re learning how to think critically, work collaboratively, and approach problems with creativity and confidence. Middle school is a key time when students begin to see how math connects to the real world, and our goal is to make those connections engaging, hands-on, and meaningful.

We work together every day to explore challenging concepts like proportional relationships, integers, equations, and geometry through group work, open-ended tasks, and real-world applications.

But to make these lessons come alive, we need essential classroom supplies like whiteboards for small group brainstorming, markers, rulers, graph poster paper, manipulatives, and other visual aids that help students take ownership of their learning.

These tools allow students to see math, talk about math, and most importantly, understand math. They support all types of learners, especially those who benefit from visual, tactile, and collaborative approaches. With your support, we can continue to build a classroom where students feel confident exploring new ideas, trying different strategies, and learning from each other.
