This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher of a low-income/high poverty school, I see my students are faced with many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Last year we were a Level 1 school. This year, because of their hard work and parents' participation, we are a Level 1+ school.

My students are creative, self-motivated and have a positive outlook on life.

They do not let their situation define them. Instead, they are always looking for ways to improve themselves in and outside of class.

They have work on community service projects in and outside of the school. They want to make a difference. Our classroom has won awards for 100% attendance in the past few months, they know in order to learn they need to be present.

My Project

The chrome books I have requested will take my students' learning to the next level. The 90+ students I teach each day will be able to: access online teaching websites/games, learn how to type papers, access their school email/student portal, research topics for Science and Language Arts, learn about internet safety, learn how to analyze data, create power-points/videos, and how to code.

My students' school lives will be greatly improved because you will be helping me to empower their education through the use of technology!

The vast majority of my students do not own any source of technology at home. Therefore, allowing them access at school is crucial! I can't wait for them to be amazed at the possibilities in front of them!
