My Project
I am a proud teacher of a diverse group of K-5 students from across the SF Bay Area. My students are remarkable! They are creative, intelligent, and well-rounded. They include competitive athletes, dedicated homeschoolers, creative artists, multicultural and multilingual students, all thriving in the flexible, independent study educational option our school provides.
As their Supervising Teacher, I juggle many roles for six grade levels.
I teach engaging daily Zoom lessons, design dynamic curriculum/weekly lesson plans, conduct assessments, foster a sense of community with online and in-person activities despite physical distance, and assist parents with tech and curriculum challenges as they support their children at home.
Unfortunately, my 6-year old MacBook struggles to meet the demands of teaching online, frequently crashing during Zooms. Replacing it is not an option for my school district at this time. Planning lessons take a big chunk of my weekends as I continue to restart or shut down my laptop to reset for better performance. An updated device is essential to my role and will directly impact my students’ success.
With a new MacBook Pro, I will be able to:
-Seamlessly teach and connect with students on Zoom without disruptions.
-Create tailored lessons and activities to meet the unique needs of each learner.
-Efficiently manage assessments and track progress to ensure students are on track.
-Provide families with curriculum and technical support to succeed in our virtual model.
-Establish a harmonious classroom community so that students still feel connected with me and each other despite being online.
