My Students

"To the world, I may be just one person. But to one person, I may be the world." The students I so graciously get to serve, go about their lives living in broken flower pots. However, inside that broken flower pot, is the most strong and beautiful flower your eyes have beheld. And oh how that beauty radiates!

Aside from the predetermined outcomes for my students, I teach them to love who they are and to not see themselves as anything less.

Their disability DOES NOT define them, or their future.

My Project

I am preparing my students for adulthood. By having a cash register, my students can practice money skills and register skills needed for employment. My students will be able to use this register with our popcorn cart business, job skill practice, and math lessons.

Students with intellectual disabilities need multiple exposures and opportunities to practice in order for a skill to stick.

This will provide my students a structured environment to practice and we will have the ability to differentiate register skills, ultimately working up to a cash register at a store.
