This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching wonderful fourth grade students in the capital city of Columbia, SC. My children love to be involved in movement activities such as dance, cheer, basketball and soccer. Many students participate in athletic teams around the area.
Currently, I provide top notch education to students in a Title One school.
All students receive free breakfast, lunch and dinner if they attend after-school programs.
Education is going to take my students to the next level academically, and in the future.
My Project
"Everything on a Waffle" is a wonderful novel that has a little girl trying to find her way. This is the age where children are most impressionable, so I want to share this experience with my students. My children love to be read to, but it will be even more powerful for them to have a copy of the novel to follow along as we explore the experiences that this little girl has to go through. Our class discussions during ELA are focused on text-dependent questions and answers. Having an individual copy of the text will allow each student to work at their own pace and not feel rushed or delayed.
