My Project
My students are incredibly special because of their diverse personalities, big hearts, and eagerness to learn despite challenges they may face. They come to school each day with different emotional needs, and I admire their resilience and willingness to grow. What makes them truly unique is their ability to show kindness, support each other, and keep trying, even when things get tough. I want to give them the tools they need to succeed not just academically, but emotionally as well.
The items in this project will help create a supportive, sensory-friendly environment.
Bean bag chairs offer a calm space for students who need a break. Chair bands give students a quiet way to release excess energy and stay focused during lessons. Finger mazes promote mindfulness and help students reset when overwhelmed. The emotion toolbox teaches them how to name and manage their feelings. These resources will help my students feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.
My goal for this project is to help students build emotional awareness, self-control, and confidence. When students feel emotionally supported, they are more likely to participate, take risks, and grow academically. I want each child to know their feelings are valid and that they have the tools to manage them in healthy ways.
