Emotionally Therapeutic Water Play

My students need a water and sand table so that they have tools to release energy, develop motor skills, develop social skills, build language and communication skills, and learned to share their space and toys with other classmates.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As an educator in a low income school district, my students are faced with many challenges. Challenges that range from student to student. Despite the challenges my students face day to day they are full of energy and ready to explore.

I describe my students eager for attention, full of energy, like to move, enjoy manipulative activities, enjoy gluing projects, enjoy technology, and are explorers through the classroom environment.

The generation that I work for are explores. Explores that take the first opportunity they have to explore the material they have. They are learning the basics of school such as how to share with others, how to take turns, how to manipulate small and large motor skills.

My Project

My students will benefit from water/sand table do to the fact that water and sand relaxes and the repetitive nature of scooping, pouring, and running their hands through the water and sand. Students can lose themselves in the physical repetition of water/sand play.

The water and sand table will allow students the opportunity to unwind, their thoughts and relax.

It will provide an opportunity for students to explore, examine, share, increase/develop small and large motor skills. The water and sand table will benefit all my students since they will have the opportunity to utilize it in a daily basics.
