This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The specific items I'm requesting, such as calming tools, fidget toys, and SEL resources, will help my students self-regulate their emotions, reducing anxiety and frustration that often accompany learning a new language. By creating a supportive environment, these tools will enable students to focus better on their academic tasks, leading to improved language acquisition and overall academic success.
My goals for this project are to create a dedicated space where my ESL students can retreat when they feel overwhelmed, allowing them to manage their emotions in a healthy way.
I aim to foster an environment where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to overcome the emotional challenges that come with learning English as a second language.
My students are special because they are resilient and determined individuals who face the dual challenge of learning a new language while navigating a new cultural environment. Despite these challenges, they bring diverse perspectives, rich cultural backgrounds, and an eagerness to learn that enriches our classroom community.
