My Project

The material and supplies I am requesting will help build my students emotional needs and resiliency for today's world. My students have a variety of needs, two of them being consistency and making sense of the world around them. My students have had their schedules disrupted because of Covid-19. Much like adults they do not understand their emotions/feelings and how to handle them. The Little Spot books will help them to better understand these emotions and how to deal with them, plus they really love them. The LEGOs are hands on tools to help them build and show us what they are feeling. The LEGOs and books will also help address some of the literacy issues my students are behind in due to missing school and dealing with emotions that are too big for them. I also included sensory/stress items for my students to use when it all becomes overwhelming.

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of different emotions and how to deal with their feelings in today's world.

This project will help my classroom to implement Social-Emotional Learning in a meaningful way for all of my students. They will become more resilient and will have the tools to handle the different challenges that may come up. Thank you for helping my students.
