My students need reading material to help with managing and expressing their emotions. Developing these skills will help them be successful when it comes to conflict resolution.
My center is made up of children Kindergarten through 5th Grade. I have children from all ages and different learning styles. I also have some kids that need more help expressing their emotions and understanding their feelings. There are some children with behavior issues that need extra support from staff and additional resources to help them thrive and be successful in Student Care. The children in my center deal with conflict daily when playing. Supporting kids in this area is a top priority in making our program and children succeed.
My Project
My center has a wide range of ages. I have some children that need more emotional support when we are transitioning. These same children also need help managing and expressing their emotions especially when conflict arises. The use of the emotions board games will help these children become aware of their emotions in a positive way. They can learn skills before conflict arises and my staff and my self can help support them. The calm cards as well as the feeling cards can help kids communicate how they are feeling when they are too upset to express in words. All these materials will help my chikdren be successful,happy and thriving in my program.
