Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are exceptional. Not only do they have special needs such as specific learning disabilities, Speech delays, and other cognitive challenges, they strive to do their very best. They want to be loved and encouraged just as any other student would. They want to be included and successful. My students make my day. Their smile, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn is amazing.
My students come from low-income family homes.
Despite this challenge, they are ready, willing, and excited to learn each and every day, all day.
My Project
My project is designed to help my students relax and release their frustration and stress from influences such as, but not limited to, poverty, anxiety, school, hunger, and worry. The beanbags will make a difference in my students’ learning because they will have a place of comfort, normalcy, and stability right in our own classroom.
Frustration and anxiety can prevent a student from learning.
Having a place to relax and calm down allows my students to gain their composer and be ready to learn. Being ready to learn helps with confidence and motivation to learn which helps them succeed in school and life
