My students need leveled books to increase reading fluency.
They also need a classroom carpet for whole group instruction and a literacy cart with white board.
"The more you read, the more things you will know,the more that you learn the more places you will go" Dr. Seuss. Reading takes you many places different countries and far away lands. I want my students to enjoy reading and have a comfortable place to explore through books.

I've got it! My students are eager, fun, enthusiastic learners. Each day they come to school ready to learn something new. My students enjoy learning but struggle greatly with literacy. They seem to love reading books but are not reading books appropriate for their grade level. Our school is a peaceful but fun learning environment. The students enjoy activities like musical choir and sports. They truly love school and learning but are limited due to lack of resources.
My Project
My students will use the carpet for independent reading and partner reading. We will also use the carpet as a reading lounge where students can read books in a comfortable area. They will use leveled books for independent reading and to record in a reading log after each book is read. After reading 75 books the students will receive a certificate.
It will be nice for them to be able to sit on a beautiful carpet during reading time and small group instruction. I will use the board to review facts in math and to display unit vocabulary. Any material that will encourage reading and learning to read is helpful.
This project will not only make a difference in our classroom but greatly enhance the love of learning, My students will be excited to sit on a carpet and not the floor.
My students will become greater readers with leveled books. Students reading on their level boasts confidence and creates a lifetime of learners loving to read!
