Emerging Computer Science Technologies for a Modern Classroom

My Students

While looking for a way to increase interest levels for my students, and finding ways to retain them in the Computer Science field, I have found that interactive experimentation has a profound impact on student engagement. By utilizing the tools that VR and AR provides, I not only will be engaging my students, but also instructing them on tools that are beginning to be widely spread.

My students are great innovators that develop creative solutions to problems everyday using Computer Science.

They look for ways to express themselves, to connect with their peers, and to collaborate with others. I would like to give them every opportunity and I believe that these tools will be a great step in that direction.

My Project

By collaborating on the creation and experience of virtual environments, my students will be developing teambuilding skills and graphic developments skills. The AR systems can be utilized by several subject areas taught at our school allowing for content crossover.

It is also my hope that these tools will also help to retain many students who come through my doors by providing them with a modern and hands on system that they may not have easy access to elsewhere.

These systems also support the development of the AR/VR classes at my school as well as Game Development.
