Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are incredibly diverse and amazing. Our high school is very large. Students come from many different situations. There are over 80 different languages spoken by students at our school. Many of our students are immigrants from all over the world.

Northern NJ has an incredibly high cost of living, so some of our families are not able to provide essentials.

However, these students want to learn and come to school despite many hardships. This project is meant to assist those that really need a bit of additional help.

My Project

A few of our students have very difficult circumstances. By helping them with a few essential items we are making it easier for them to have the confidence and security to attend school. We are asking for cereal, shelf-stable milk, soup, crackers, applesauce, and mac and cheese to stock an emergency food pantry in the nurses' office.

Happy and healthy teens regularly attending classes is our goal.

A child who is hungry can't concentrate. Growing children can eat quite a bit of food. Leveling the playing field for those who have truly difficult circumstances requires a few extra food items.
