it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As September comes to a close, October will bring new challenges for the parenting and pregnant students supported by the SPPT program. Our program often becomes aware of unfortunate situations that prevent some students and their children from staying with a caregiver, forcing them to find temporary accommodations for the night, such as with a friend or family member. As a result, students often struggle to come to school due to the additional mental stress associated with this transience.
The goal of this project is to offer emergency overnight hygiene kits to students who may be temporarily displaced with their child due to unexpected situations.
This support of providing lotion, deodorant, shampoo, and more, can help reduce the stress of having to obtain hygiene products on their own and motivate the students to attend school, knowing that they are being supported during their time of need.
