This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school with amazing kids who are excited about school and want to learn. They are inquisitive and creative kids. They come from low-income families who are very transient. They need and deserve to have amazing, wonderful things just for them to help them learn whether they are in my class for a year, a week, or even one day.
These wonderful and amazing kids need STEM supplies and large blow-up dice.
I am moving to 4th grade, and my students will need STEM kits and large blow-up dice. These items will give the students the opportunity to study and grow in the science, technology, engineering, and math world as they enter the classroom each morning. The large dice will be used to help with math and other fun number games.
My Project
I am moving to 4th grade and have no STEM materials for my students to use. These materials will help my students to use creativity and critical thinking skills. These materials will also allow my students the opportunity to use social and communication skills as they work together on projects.
They will use these materials to build and learn how things work as well as when they first come in the morning to help them adjust to their school day and socialize while they work through problems that arise while they are creating their projects.
The materials will be used to create group as well as individual projects that the students will be able to report to the class on how it was built, what it would be used for, and how it works.
