This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are extremely passionate about learning about the world around them and engaging with social justice issues. We are currently reading "Dear Martin", a novel about racism and stereotyping. As we were reading, they also watched "The Hate U Give" movie. Many students loved it and asked if they could read it! Please help give them the opportunity to read this incredibly powerful novel and grow my diverse classroom library. My students also love creative and hands-on activities and projects. Supplies like markers, colored pencils, pencils, and construction paper will help them in day-to-day activities as well as with creative projects. I would also love the opportunity to engage with fun and meaningful lessons, that would aid me as an educator so that I can give my best to my students by having resources from TeachersPayTeachers. In addition, maintaining my classroom is important to both my students and I, so supplies like wipes and a swiffer would be a tremendous help. These supplies and novels will help my students become culturally aware citizens and will increase their love for reading!
