Help me give my students diversity books, special needs communication cards, HP Laptop, Flexible seating, storage shelf, Echo Dot, hole puncher and visual wall clock to assist with learning how to tell time.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a school in an urban area, where 97% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of them struggle academically and lack the ability to be self-motivated and focus to do their best. I intend on creating those avenues to bridge the gap of learning for them in both the inclusion setting and my resource setting.
Many of the students that I service need extra resources, modifications, accommodations and teacher support to assist in their diverse everyday learning.
They all learn at different rates and have various learning styles. My students suffer from minor to severe disabilities, which makes it challenging for them to feel successful in school.
Although my students have daily struggles to learn that is beyond their control, they try their best to make me proud. It is a good feeling to know that they are not only working hard to make their parents proud but to also make me proud as their teacher. They are the reason that I work overtime to make sure that I am always prepared with lesson plans tailored to their learning styles.
My Project
My amazing students have been working incredibly hard using the assignments that I have given them on Google Classroom, I-Ready, IXL, Studies Weekly and Study Island. However, my scholors would benefit greatly from me having flexible seating for a brain break, Alexa Echo Dot and visual wall clock to assist with learning how to tell time with a visual timer. They can also visually see the ELA, math, science, social studies and resource lessons that I have prepared for them on Google Classroom meetings.
This project will provide diversity books, storage shelf, special needs communication cards, and a HP Laptop to assist my students with their hybrid IEP goals.
My scholars will learn about different types people. They will also learn about disabilities and how to cope with them in the everyday world. Once we excitedly return to school, my phenomenal special education students will benefit immensely by having a Alexa Echo Dot and visual wall clock in our classroom dedicated to their visual and audio learning styles. Students who are tactile learners, will use the bulletin time manipulative cards. These tools will help greatly while embracing diversity through education.
