This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In high school, girls begin to experience their first menstrual cycle. Some come to school well prepared, while others face the embarrassment of not having proper products. These products range from not having a tampon to only having panty liners and needing a pad. As a female teacher, I only have so many products to hand out to the young ladies in my class.

With this donation, I can support the girls experiencing an emergency and need feminine hygiene products without embarrassment.

I want to create a safe drawer in my classroom where my female students can go and grab the supplies they need. And, immediately go to the restroom to handle her business. Supplies like tampons, pads, and flushable wipes will save female students from having to ask a friend, or missing class time to go to the nurse's office for oversized and unfit sanitary products. Over time, I hope that my classroom will become a haven for the female population at school to get the products they desperately need in times of emergency.
