My Project

I am a science teacher at a small public charter school whose mission is to provide a rigorous, international education for students in underserved rural Idaho counties.

This year, we were thrilled to introduce our very first high school Electricity and Magnetism class, but we are currently lacking the adequate lab supplies to provide our students with an excellent hands-on education.

Currently, my students are learning about electromagnetic radiation, the technology behind radios, microwaves, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, x-rays, and so many other innovative devices that we use today. My students have so many questions about EM waves, and often ask about which types of EM radiation are harmful to people. I would love to provide them with a hands-on opportunity to answer their own questions, and the lab kits I want to purchase will allow my students to determine the effects of EM radiation on cell DNA through experimentation and investigation.

My students are curious and eager to design their own experiments to learn about the world around them. Help me provide this invaluable educational experience for my students to inspire the next generation's scientists and innovators.
