Mr. Kade from Detroit MI is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an ELMO (document camera) to help with their lessons.

Didn't you always love getting a new toy? I do and so do my students. You can help me increase my children's achievement, help our planet, and our school's bottom line by helping me get ELMO to our school.
My children are in a low-income urban public school district where funds are certainly tight.
They are third graders who are yearning to learn. This year my group is very excited and eager to do projects and assignments that we have already started.
This camera will be a life saver in many ways. The children be excited about new technology that they get to be a part of and therefore will be more interested in the lessons. Also, due to lack of funds, we do not have enough, or in some cases any, workbooks for the children to use. This will allow me to teach the lesson from the book without every student needing one. It will also help our class be a little greener. I try to encourage the students to recycle the paper we use in class, and without buying more books or running off worksheets, we are helping, in a small way, contribute less to the waste in our environment.
I know this will help raise my lessons to a higher level by getting the students more involved.
Anytime they feel a part of something it always makes them more successful. This tool will help in all areas that I teach. Not only can books and worksheets be used, but math manipulative's (clocks, cubes, geometric shapes, coins, etc), science items (rock, gems, feathers, fur, etc, and social studies maps can all be easily projected for them with this camera. It is time ELMO came to our school!
