My students need an Elmo to present their work. The timer will help students to stay on task.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a transfer school. Students in my school are over-aged and have been struggling in middle schools. Our classes serve nearly half of students with special needs. All are integrated into regular classes. Most of our students are new language learners and need extra academic and social support to success in school.
Technology is important and can help students learn the new language and engage them in learning math.
The more support they get, the more successful they are.
My Project
The Elmo and timer will make a big difference in students' learning.
Providing students with necessary technology in classroom will increase their confidence and engage them in learning.
With the Elmo, teacher and students can present their work or any manipulative under the document camera for all class to see. The Elmo helps students, specially visual learners, better understand the materials and concepts. Students, specially English Language Learners, will receive both verbal and visual instructions in using language to transmit ideas. With Elmo, the classrooms will be filled with writing, talking, and thinking.
Students will stay on task with the timer. The timer also help students to develop their time management skills and learn how to use time effectively.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
