My students need language learning center materials and an easel to bring their learning to life! The language learning materials will help students practice their sequencing, sounds, word building skills and more.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a low-socioeconomic status community, and are all born from immigrant families. Both the students and their families are a wonderful part of our Bilingual Program where the students are juggling two languages, English and Spanish, on a daily basis. They succeed in their learning by doing their best in school, and from the excellent support they receive at home. Our school is a great community that holds students from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. It is a welcoming environment, where children's laughter is always heard. The dedicated teachers and staff at our school love what they do and truly understand, and have, what it takes to teach children in the beginning of their schooling career.
My Project
Center time is the time of the day all of my students look forward to. During literacy centers, my students are able to work on their letter naming skills, sound recognition, independent reading, and most importantly, their English language acquisition. My students work hard every day to become better English writers, readers and speakers. Providing them with materials to practice their English skills will enhance their time learning in the classroom.
Center time develops skills, responsibility, classroom community, and independence.
In addition to adding language learning centers, my students will benefit from a new white board easel for their center collaboration. The white board easel will allow my students to work with their peers in a larger, organized format.
