This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items I've requested will allow me to reward my students for being able to complete their work and staying focused, as I've requested snacks! Students tend to get hungry or are always looking for a snack and can not focus due to being hungry. I also noticed that a snack is a good incentive for students with ADHD who can not focus!
I have also requested hygiene products and hair products which will allow for students to feel as if they fit in.
There are some students who don't always have their hair done or sometimes struggle with body odor issues. I hope to be able to be able to help them be able to do their hair or smell good and feel good.
My students are all in Special Education and many of them struggle to count or stay focused. They are all unique and they are all happy when they learn something new or they are able to solve a problem on their own. Living in East Las Vegas a lot of students are low- income and don't have a great home life, students spend 8 , sometimes 9 hours a day and 6 days a week at school. My students deserve everything they can get to help them further their education.
