Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It's the end of the school year and we need to restock supplies we have used in class - watercolor paper and new paint brushes. My goal for my students will always be to give them enough supplies so they can be creative. Many are afraid to waste supplies or make mistakes. By having plenty of paper it provides students the materials to take risks, try something different and discover their artistic process by not being limited by their materials.
New brushes help students feel confident when painting and by giving students new materials it reminds them that they are valuable to have nice things to paint with - especially when they are learning to paint.
The new paints are a professional grade, much nicer than the sets we currently use in class and will let students experience what it's like to work with nicer watercolor pigments. At the end of the year I want my students to have supplies that continue to expand their creativity. These supplies will provide them with something nice at the end of the school year.
