it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have a love for immersing themselves into stories and what makes them so special is that they are the first Dual Language Class at our school. Their dual language education is equipping them with cognitive, linguistic, and cultural advantages that prepare them to excel academically and thrive in an increasingly interconnected and diverse society. They just need your help to create the space that they desperately need!
Your donation will provide 2nd-grade dual language students and future Bobcats with the start of a vibrant reading oasis, equipped with a diverse bookcase and comfortable carpet squares, fostering language development, inclusivity, and a love for learning.
The bookcase houses a diverse range of books in both languages, enabling students to engage in personalized reading journeys that enhance language proficiency and comprehension skills. Students can select books matching their levels and interests, encouraging independent exploration.
The carpet squares create an inviting reading nook where students can gather to read individually or collaboratively. This cozy environment cultivates a love for reading, making learning enjoyable. Additionally, collaborative reading sessions promote peer interactions, boosting communication skills and confidence as students share thoughts and insights about stories.
