My Students
All 280 students in my school from 3K through 5th-grade students can't go to school but stay home for distance learning. Each student's family receives either one laptop or iPad. We use different online resources, such as Google Classroom and Google Meet, to teach the students. Some students who live in shelters have a hard time with distance learning because they don't have enough space for learning. Some students have brothers or sisters who live in the home, and they need to share the laptop or iPad with their brothers or sisters. Although the students are facing economic disadvantages, they work very hard to complete their online reading and math assignments. I am so proud to be one of their teachers.
My Project
During this COVID-19 school closure, students can't go to school but stay home for distance learning. As a technology teacher, I need to provide the best learning experience for my students. Three third-grade students with special needs love robots and coding so much. Through online learning, I have been teaching them different coding concepts, and they have completed many coding assignments on code.org and Scratch. I know they could learn more if they had the coding robot sets. They would assemble the robots, program to complete different tasks, and share their learning experiences online. They would design different coding programs in coding software. They would apply their coding skills to robotic assignments. Please help the students expand their learning experience in coding. Thank you.
