Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

If had to describe my students in one word, I would say they are "curious". Despite the obstacles the majority of them face on a daily basis, they come to school ready and wanting to learn. Many of my students face challenges like: English being their second language, low socio-economic background, learning disabilities and more. My school is small, Title I charter school which has more than 80% of its students on free or reduced lunch.

Despite the obstacles they face on a daily basis, they come to school eager to learn new things.

This forensics course is new to the school and to my students and I want to ensure that they have all the materials needed in order to bring the passion of forensics science to them.

My Project

The forensics kits and resources we are asking for will give my students the opportunity to learn about the technical skills needed in the forensics world. My students are fascinated with crime scene investigating and learning about the analyzing and collecting evidence.

These forensics kits and resources will help give them real life practice and experience in collecting and analyzing evidence in an investigation.

Through this class and with these resources I hope to not only open up their minds but to also introduce them to a new skill which may lead to a career in forensics in the future.
