Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, I have the privilege of working as a school counselor. My students just came back from a long hiatus due to Covid. Most of them are excited to spend time with their friends. Quite a few of them are nervous and anxious about being back in a school environment especially the 6th graders that are just starting middle school. My students care about their school environment, community, and each other.
Socio-emotional learning is at the forefront of this school year.
My students can all benefit from a lot of emotional and financial support. As a counselor working in a Title I school, the need for additional resources to benefit the emotional well-being of the community is a priority.
My Project
Help me give my students the ability to have the items we need to continue to successfully learn. After two difficult years due to the pandemic, I feel my students need socio-emotional support more than ever. The Power Strip Towers will keep our Chromebooks safe while we let me them charge. They will also keep working space clutter-free and will be a better work environment for us all.

I am setting up a space where my students can relax and have a snack while chatting with their counselor. A Tower will also be used to keep our tea kettle safe while making tea and hot chocolate. These items will truly enhance the health and wellness of my students.
