Help me give my students electrolysis apparatuses so that they can study the redox reactions that take place in hydrogen fuel cell cars.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have four wonderful classes of general chemistry students. General chemistry is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students walk into class on the first day, passionate about science and excited to study chemical reactions. Some of my students feel quite the opposite; they have struggled all their lives to feel comfortable in a science classroom and have difficulty seeing the utility of chemistry and school in general. Some of my students are simply learning English and looking to gain confidence in reading and writing through immersion in a science classroom.
Because of the mixed interests, abilities, and goals of my students, I have designed a general chemistry course that is holistic.
While it's important to always teach the disciplinary core ideas in chemistry, even more of a priority is the cultivation of skills (e.g. asking questions and defining problems, developing and using models, planning and carrying out investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, engaging in argument from evidence, etc.) These scientific and engineering skills, in conjunction with strong scientific literacy, will allow our students to find utility in their learning and hopefully connect that learning to their future college/ career endeavors.
My Project
Many of my general chemistry students are either interested in cars or passionate about global warming and saving the environment. Because of this, one of our units of study will be focused on the incredibly important redox reactions that occur in hydrogen fuel cell zero-emission cars.
By donating to this project and helping fund our classroom set of electrolysis apparatuses, you will not only help students better visualize redox reactions, but you will also provide students the opportunity to produce "clean, renewably sourced" hydrogen fuel in much the same manner as real scientists.
It's important that students always connect their learning to real-time college and career opportunities. Through this unit of study, my hope is that students will enjoy engaging in career opportunities related to climate science, automotive engineering, and rocket chemistry. And that students will gain confidence in their abilities grasp challenging scientific principles and apply them to real-life scenarios.
