My Students

Our robotics team's goal for 2020 is to spread their passion for STEM to their community and beyond! "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." -B. Franklin

Our Robotics Team 968 has won 8 Regionals, 1 Championship, Engineering Inspiration Award, and countless other awards, but we have our eyes set on the prestigious Chairman's Award.

We strive to provide high school students with opportunities to experience real-world engineering through robotics. It's especially meaningful because our school serves a diverse demographic. Many of our students will be the first in their family to attend 4-year institution as well. We not only give an outlet to our brightest students but also give one to those that are hardworking and have aspirations. Every year, our students are given 6 weeks to build a robot to fulfill a task at the competition. As the varsity sport for the mind, our FRC Robotics team competes in the excitement of sport, with the rigors of science and technology. We challenge our students to build and program a robot to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It’s as close to "real-world engineering" as a student can.

My Project

The Falcon 500 is the latest smart speed control technology produced by the Talon platform. Its compact, lightweight package renders it ideal for robotics at a competitive level. It includes closed-loop PID control algorithms that grant quick access to advanced controls and makes complex motor control accessible to all teams.

Our goal for our robotics team is to encourage students to learn more about mechanics, engineering, and programming.

These new motors will help with building our robot for this year's competition

We will work as a team, meeting challenges creatively and collaboratively, all while using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related skills.

Perhaps more importantly than the hands-on experience, will be the non-technology skills we will develop--the leadership, problem solving, and everyday life skills that will prepare us for our futures.
