This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher, one of my pet peeves is wasting time. We only get these precious kiddos for a given amount of time; time I would prefer be spent learning instead of dealing with hand-crank sharpeners that only waste (or eat as the kids say it) pencils.
Having electric sharpeners for each classroom at our school would mean smoother morning starts and transitions.
Especially if a classroom has a classroom helper designated to easily sharpen pencils in the morning, to have readily available throughout the day.
This project would furnish each classroom in our school (K-2) with one electric sharpener. This simple tool would make my fellow teachers' lives a little easier and impact approximately 136 students.
