My Project

This novel shows students who come from different backgrounds working together in their personal lives while figuring out life as a middle schooler. It is a great book to show students that everyone has an obstacle in their life and sometimes you need the help of friends to get you through it. This novel is short and not too hard to read/comprehend. I plan on helping students see themselves in the characters they are reading by doing quick writes and journal entries from the point of view of a character in the book. By having paper copies of books I can accommodate those who read better with paper, while also providing audio versions online and reading out loud in class for students who prefer to listen. My summer school students are going from the middle of the road to the lower percentile in our school. I do not want them to read a book they already read and find no value in learning over the summer. It is hard to get students motivated for summer school, let alone if the content is dry. I hope you consider donating as I know I and my students now and in the future will appreciate it a lot. Thank you.
