ELA Classroom Supplies for the New Year

My Project

This project is intended to add new supplies to the classroom for my English Language Arts (ELA) classes. The storage bins will make a major difference in how school supplies are organized, so they are easier to access during the day. Bins will be perfect for sorting class materials for each table group of students, so they are able to gather workbooks and novels for class quickly at the start of class. I'm also excited for the reading helpers, as I believe they will be a major support for my struggling readers to follow along during shared reading. I'm also excited for the literary elements posters. Last year, we started a new curriculum, and literary elements play a major role in each lesson. Having these visuals will help students remember the terms they are learning.

Finally, I wanted to also grow my selection of graphic novels in my classroom library.

Last school year, graphic novels played a major role in getting my students who struggled with reading to get excited about books. There was such a great demand for these graphic novels that they were always being borrowed from my library.

An organized classroom and updated classroom library help create a positive learning environment for students. My goal with this project is to have a better-organized classroom and a wider selection of texts to improve the learning experiences of my upcoming 6th graders and get them excited about school. I believe this project will help greatly.
