My Students

I'm a teacher at a Title l, and low-performing school. Our small neighborhood school is family oriented. One hundred percent of the students receive free lunch. We believe that all students can succeed.

It is a joy to come to school each day and have an opportunity to make an impression in their lives.

They know I have high expectations of them. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. In spite of the many challenges they face, I make sure school is fun with creative and meaningful learning experiences. While many of my students face uncertainties as they leave school each day, they know that when they arrive, they are entering a safe, family-like classroom community that feels like a second home.

My Project

The use of Chromebooks is a daily activity in our classroom. The students need durable headphones to complete assessments and play learning games such as Prodigy. Students also use Google Classroom daily where I often upload educational videos to be watched as well as videos of myself.

The use of whiteboards is also a daily activity in which the use of dry erase markers and erasers are needed.

We use the markers frequently and they dry out quickly plus they do not have a means to erase work other than with a tissue.

The students also need more storage and comfortable seating in the room for books and reading. The bins will help accomplish both of these goals.
