This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class consists of 26 amazing kindergarten students! We have multiple English Language Learners in our classroom and two students on IEPs. The students love working with playdough and using their fine motor skills to build different crafts!

My kindergarten class always comes in with a bright smile on their face and always excited to learn.

My Project

I am a newer teacher to the school district and have very limited personal supplies that our students can use. The few things we have I have purchased out of pocket, but with a class size of 26 students we are in need of a lot more items. The items I have chosen will be used during our ELA centers. In our Classroom Library Center we will use the Pigeon series books for the students to read. We are also working on building fine motor skills. The How to Draw series books will help students build upon their fine motor skills and practice drawing shapes and following steps/routines. The playdough, magnetic letters, and rubber stamps will be used to build letters and sight words. The last items will be used during our purposeful play centers. Students will be able to continue to build on their fine motor skills when working with Legos. We also will use the class paintbrush set during our art day.
