This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students in the Spanish 4/5 classes will be studying how soccer (fútbol) influence not just the sport world but also the political, economic and social life of the countries where is the main sport.

By reading some of the short stories in Galeano's book El fútbol a sol y sombra in Spanish; student will not only be able to read literature in the target language but also learn the important role of the sport in the life of Latin Americans.

This will be part of a semester long project, where we will be reading the short stories throughout the semestre while also following the news and stats of two soccer teams from the same city.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
